About Us

Our Mission

Salud Más Allá is a student-led community health initiative working to expand healthcare access for underserved Hispanic communities locally and globally. Through preventive health screenings, bilingual education,  medical resource support, fundraising, and partnerships with community and healthcare organizations, we aim to make health resources more accessible and support organizations already doing meaningful work in the communities they serve.

Our Vision

We envision healthier communities where language, financial barriers, or limited access to resources do not prevent individuals from receiving the care and support they need. By combining direct service with fundraising, donations, and partnerships, we hope to create sustainable ways to strengthen healthcare access both locally and internationally.

What We Do

Salud Más Allá is a student-led community health initiative advancing health equity in underserved communities in the U.S. and Latin America. Our work combines preventive outreach, bilingual education, medical resource access, overdose prevention, fundraising, and partnerships to help make healthcare more accessible.

Our Programs

Preventive Health Outreach
We bring free health screenings and practical health resources directly into community settings. Our outreach includes blood pressure and heart rate screenings, wellness events, health fairs, and other preventive health activities.

Health Education & Literacy
We create accessible health information in both English and Spanish to help families better understand and manage their health. Our educational work includes bilingual materials, digital health literacy, medical Q&As, family health topics, nutrition, prevention, and chronic disease awareness.

Naloxone Access & Overdose Prevention
As a partner in the DuPage Naloxone Program, we distribute free naloxone kits at community events and screenings and provide information on recognizing and responding to opioid overdoses.

Medical Equipment & Resource Access
We collect and distribute new and gently used medical equipment and supplies to communities with limited access to these resources, both locally and globally. This includes mobility equipment, first-aid supplies, and other essential health-related items.

Community Partnerships
We collaborate with schools, food pantries, community centers, public health agencies, nonprofits, and healthcare organizations to bring services and resources directly to the people they serve.

Global Partnerships
Through fundraising, donations, and medical equipment drives, we support organizations working to improve health and well-being in underserved communities across Latin America and beyond.

Student Leadership & Service
High school and college students play an active role in Salud Más Allá through volunteering, outreach, health education, fundraising, and community events. We aim to create meaningful opportunities for students to serve while developing leadership and a commitment to health equity.
